South of France... Part One

I fell in love with the South of France. . .

our tiny cottage house's blue shutters....

and outdoor porch with plenty of candles for evening chats..

notice the terracotta roofs juxtaposition to the green vinery

the slit windows at the main dining area made for an interesting atmosphere

the tall skinny trees that bow lightly in the Mistral breezes..

...we woke up to the smell of lavender growing outside of our two person cottage ...

we retreated out for a little sight seeing... like to the village of Nîmes

their colloseum looked surreal against the blue sky

as well as the city of Uzès...

with castles whose walls echoed chior music from the adjacent church..

and the town square whose lounge chairs invited visitors to enjoy a glass in the warm weather

Straßen.. Frankfurt und Berlin

A street often has more than just the function of driving or walking.

Sometimes it houses street side cafes juxtaposed next to train traffic like this one in Berlin. . .

When surrounded on both sides they can be welcoming breaks from the main street traffic.

There are the streets of old like in Frankfurt that were once busy with horse drawn carriages..

and now are great strolling lanes for loved ones.

but best of all, they get you to your destination.

Southern Charm

My good friends wedding shower was this past month.

I couldnt make it being in Germany

so i sent over a bunch of framed sketches I made

which were then handed out to the Grandmothers, Aunts. . .

and a few as door prizes ,)

The theme was southern US architecture.

The groom and bride to be hold undergrad degrees from Clemson...

and Elon University respectively.

Elon's campus has the prettiest breezeways...

This one was given to the bride. The Baseball Stadium is a regular date spot for the two.

Congrats, Meghan and Greg!
